General

  1. Why should I use Hesta Home?

    • Hesta Home is a tool designed for agents and clients that are interested in being more efficient.  It allows users to manage their showings schedule, run property searches, and stay in touch with their agents/clients.  Hesta Home can help you generate leads by incentivizing your clients to invite their friends to the tool...the invitation will connect them directly to you.  

  2. Can my assistant/admin schedule for me?  

    • Concurrent login is possible with Hesta Home.  At this point, the best way for your assistant to manage your calendar is to log in using your credentials, but remember that this will give them full access to message your clients and setup showings with them. 

  3. I’ve got some other questions.  How can I contact Hesta Home?

    • Go to the ‘Settings’ tab at the bottom and click on ‘Submit feedback’.  This will allow you to send an email directly to our support staff.  We’ll get back to you as soon as we can!  Otherwise, email support@hestahome.com

  4. Can we search rentals?

    • At this time, there is no ability to search for rentals.  We'll be adding this shortly!

Profile

  1. How do I set/change my profile picture?

    • iOS - Click on ‘Profile’ at the bottom and then click ‘Edit my info’.  

    • Web - Click on 'Profile' in the upper left hand corner.

  2. I want to change my email address.  Is there anyway that I can do that?

    • Since our username is based on your email address, changing is not possible at this time.  

  3. How do I create a new saved search for myself?

    • iOS - Saved searches can only be created from the properties map.  Go to properties, set your filters, set the location on the map, and then click the ‘Save Search’ button.  In the upper right hand corner, there will be an option to save a search for yourself.

    • Web - Saved searches can only be created from the properties map.  Go to properties, set your filters, set the location on the map, and then click the ‘Save’ button in the upper right.  At the bottom of your list of clients, there is an option 'Save for Me'.  

Property Search

  1. How up to date is the data on Hesta Home?  How often is the data refreshed from the MLS?

    • Hourly.  Every hour, Hesta Home is refreshed with the latest data from the MLS (MRED).

  2. How do I narrow down the results that are returned?

    • iOS - Go to ‘Properties’ and then click ‘Filter’ in the upper right hand corner.

    • Web - Go to ‘Properties’ and then use the filters above the map.  

  3. How do I search based on a location?

    • There are two ways to search based on a location.  One way is to simply move and zoom the map to the area you’d like to search.  The filters will be applied and the results returned will be based upon the area that you are viewing.  The other way to search based on location is to click on the magnifying glass in the upper left hand corner of either the map or the list view and enter a city, zip code, or neighborhood code.  Additionally, you can also search on street name or house number.  

  4. How do I create a showing based on a property?

    • iOS - On the properties page, go to the ‘List’ view by clicking in the upper left hand corner.  Select the properties you wish to put in the showing by clicking on the circle in the upper left hand corner (it’ll turn blue once you click it).  Select all the properties you’d like, then click on ‘Schedule’ at the bottom.  

    • Web - On the properties page, select the properties you wish to put in the showing by clicking on the circle in the upper left hand corner (it’ll turn blue once you click it).  Select all the properties you’d like, then click on ‘Schedule’ at the bottom.  

  5. How do I recommend a property to a client?

    • iOS - On the properties page, go to the ‘List’ view by clicking in the upper left hand corner.  Select the properties you wish to put in the showing by clicking on the circle in the upper left hand corner (it’ll turn blue once you click it).  Select all the properties you’d like, then click on ‘Send’ at the bottom.  

    • Web - On the properties page, select the properties you wish to put in the showing by clicking on the circle in the upper left hand corner (it’ll turn blue once you click it).  Select all the properties you’d like, then click on ‘Send’ at the bottom.  

  6. What statuses are included in Active, Contingent, Other?

    • Active = Active, New, Price Update, Reactivated

    • Contingent = Pending, Contingent

    • Other = Auction, Temporarily No Showings, Rented

  7. Can I save a search for a client?

    • Yes.  In order to save a search, set the filters then go to the map.  Zoom your map to the appropriate area or enter a city, zipcode, or neighborhood code and then click ‘Save Search’ in the lower left hand corner.  You will be prompted to select a client to associate the search to.  Clients will have the search saved to their profile so that either you or the client can go into Hesta Home and rerun the saved search at any time.  

  8. I can’t see the ‘Save Search’ button on the map...where is it?

    • If the keyboard is being displayed, you need to click ‘Done’ to hide the keyboard.  The ‘Save Search’ button should be viewable once you close the keyboard.  

  9. Why are listings that I know exist not showing up?

    • Review each filter to make sure that you haven’t filtered the listings out.  Additionally, Hesta Home only will return the latest 100 listings that fit your filter criteria on the map.  If you aren’t seeing a home you expect on the map, you can always go to the list and scroll to the bottom to see the next 100 results.

  10. Can I search based on MLS number?  How about neighborhood code?

    • Absolutely, just type the MLS number or neighborhood code into the search box.  As long as it’s currently in the MLS and your filters aren’t excluding it (you might want to clear them to make sure), it will show up.

  11. Can I search for homes outside of the Chicagoland area?

    • Currently, we are only connected to MRED, so those are the only listings you’ll be able to see at this time.

Clients

  1. How do I add a client to Hesta Home?

    • There are two ways that you can add a client to Hesta Home.  To do this, click on the ‘clients’ tab at the bottom of any screen and click on the ‘+’ sign in the upper right.  This will walk you through the process to add a new contact as a Hesta Home client.  If you already have the client in your iPhone contacts list and have given Hesta Home access to your contacts, go to clients and find the contact in the iPhone Contacts section.  Click on the desired contact and then click ‘Add’ in the upper right to add the contact to Hesta Home.  At this point, you can either send an invitation to the client or choose to send at a later time.  

  2. Why do I not see any clients or the client I want to select when creating a showing?

    • In order to schedule a showing with a client in Hesta Home, that client must be added as a Hesta Home client.  See the answer above to add a client.  

  3. Why can’t I just upload all of my iPhone contacts?

    • We wanted to be sensitive about the information that we are pulling into the Hesta Home system...if you’re not planning on selling a home to your mother, we didn’t think that you’d want her in the system.  Additionally, to keep the Hesta Home client list short to make searching quicker, we want to be sure only your active clients have been added.  

  4. Do I have to invite my client to Hesta Home to interact with them in the tool?

    • No.  You have the option to add a user without sending them an invitation to the tool.  However, when creating showings or sending recommendations to that client, they will receive an email with the relevant information and also a link to register with Hesta Home

  5. Why should I encourage my clients to join?  What are the benefits from their side?

    • There are a ton of benefits for the client.  

      • Home buyers have access to the latest MLS information through our direct connection.  They can run custom searches and save them for future use.  They can quickly request to see multiple homes through the tool.  

      • Showing calendar - clients can quickly check their upcoming schedule to view homes.  They can also cancel a showing if something comes up.

      • Consolidated communication - clients can message their agent directly from the app...no more confusion on whether to text, call, or email.

      • Custom notes - during a showing, clients can save text notes and pictures directly to a listing for easy reference when they are reviewing what they saw after the showing.  

  6. I don’t want to overwhelm my client with a ton of emails from Hesta Home.  How often are emails sent out?

    • Emails are only sent to the client when:

      • inviting them to a new showing

      • a showing is canceled or updated

      • when you recommend properties

      • a reminder email is sent shortly before the showing starts

      • when properties with scheduled showings change price/status or have a new open house

      • when there are new/changed saved search results, or updates to favorite properties

  7. Can I delete a client that I’m no longer working with?  

    • Absolutely.  Simply find the client and go to their profile.  Click ‘Edit’ and scroll to the bottom to delete the client.  

Showings

  1. How do I create a new showing?

    • There are multiple ways to create a new showing.  

      • Starting from the properties tab - select the properties that you’d like included in the showing, click the export button at the bottom, and then click ‘Schedule a Showing’

      • Starting from a Client - click on a client in the Hesta Home list and then click on the create showing button in the upper right hand corner (looks like a little calendar with a plus ‘+’ symbol) or select properties that they've favorited.

      • Starting from the Showings Calendar - click on a day in the calendar to create a showing.

  2. What if I need to cancel a showing?

    • Simply find the showing on your calendar and go to the details.  Click on edit and then scroll to the bottom to cancel the showing.  Hesta Home will send a message to the client associated with the showing to alert them.  

  3. What if I need to edit a showing?

    • Find the showing in your calendar and click ‘Edit’ in the upper right to edit.  You can change the date/time, and properties or client.  BE AWARE that any changes will automatically be reflected in the clients app without alerting them.  It is highly recommended that you resend the invite to the client when making any changes and also verify that all properties/listing agents are available at the new times.

  4. How do I import my calendar?

    • iOS - At this point in time, you can only import an outlook calendar.  Go to your profile and then click on the gear in the upper right.  Then follow the instructions in 'Microsoft Outlook Account Settings'.

    • Web - Go 'Showings'.  At the top of the calendar, there is a button 'Import events from Outlook'.  Click this button and follow the instructions.

    • Right now, Hesta Home only reads from your calendar and will not write events to your outlook calendar.  

  5. Why can’t I see a day view?

    • Day view is available on the web tool (hestahome.com) and in future releases will be available in the mobile app.  

Other questions

  1. Can I import all of my saved searches from the MLS?

    • Hesta Home does not currently allow you to do this, but you can quickly recreate the searches using our slick interface.  

  2. When will there be an android / iPad version?

    • We’re going to get Android and iPad versions released as soon as possible...we’ll keep you posted!
